This and That

Had a request for this layout to be featured in Craft Gossip's Inspiration du jour.
Love how something so simple can be so eye catching.  Kind of like people don't you think?  The more we try to impress those around us, the less sincerely attractive, and authentic one actually becomes.  The more we allow our true selves to guide and lead us the more people want to get to know us.  Just a thought today.

Not sure if I mentioned this before or not.  But my guest designer spot here has been extended.

Tanya and Nicole have been so welcoming.  And even more important you all have been so encouraging.  I can't say thank you enough for the times that you've popped by here to say hello, and comment on my work.  To have you pop over to the LCOM blog to leave a little love also is just so touching.  Thank you for believing in me, and supporting me in this way.  I love that I get to share pieces of my life with all of you in this fun and creative way.  This was hand delivered to me yesterday afternoon.
Just look at it.  Sigh, it makes me want to whip out photos of the people I love and get recording the stories and experiences behind each one.  This is Double Dutch: Lily Bee's new collection.  I can't wait to get started with it.  But, alas, wait I must.  There are more pressing things this week that require my full attention as a mother, employee, and a friend.

Today is the day that the new Design Team will be revealed at My Scrapbook Nook.  The list will likely not be posted until later this evening when I'm at Dance Class so I won't be updating this post with the results.  I really have no idea what to expect.  We've been told that there are only 4 spots open, and 23 of us vying for one.  My chances are slim, I realize, but I remain hopeful.  Speaking of the Nook they have a fun game going on right now.  It's a "lift the person above you" game, and it's open to all.  You can check out the deets and sign up here.  You may also want to check out the May kit that is shipping today.  It will be full of Echo Park goodness.  You can see some photos of it here.

More Crate Paper Goodness, love this Story Teller line
Okay, I really must go now and get going on everything around here.  I'll be mia over the next few days as my girls and I compete over the next 3 days here...
We're all pretty excited about it.  I'll fill you in on all of it as soon as I'm able.  And I'll also fill you in on another scrappy secret I'm holding in too *wink*

Have a wonderful week friends!

Praise Post

Happy Monday friends,

This past Friday my girls had Tri-Conferences at their school.  Not sure if you're familiar with the new concept of what use to be known as the parent teacher interview.  Rather than the child being excluded from the conversation between the parent/guardian and the teacher, the child is central to the interaction.  We had the opportunity to not just hear about their progress from their teachers, we also got to see first hand what they have been working on over the past several months, and experience a little of what they're learning, as they walked us through experiments, power point presentations and art work that they've created.  Hearing from their teachers that my girls are kind, and respectful, considerate, and intelligent is so encouraging, and heartwarming.  Seeing some of the things they're learning, and how they are learning them make me excited for how much further along they will be academically by the end of elementary school than I was at their age.  Have you seen the way Math is taught these days?  If only we had learned it that way.  Horizontally makes so much more sense than going down columns.  Their ability to put together their very own movies using Power Point, and the social awareness they develop through a variety of tools through Social Studies is far and wide beyond what and how we learned in school 10, 15, and 20 plus years ago.
My heart was swollen with pride as we left the school, walking as a family to our vehicle.  I was very aware of how blessed my girls are, how blessed we are as a family to have the freedom and ability to send our children to school.  They will never know the reality of some, who don't have that privilege.  They will never have to leave their studies to help support their family financially. They will never have to wonder whether or not they'll have the opportunity to graduate with a High School diploma.  They have teachers who genuinely care about their academic, social, and emotional well being.  And most importantly they have parents who are ready and willing to partner with the school to help ensure the best possible foundation for learning in these formative years.  I consider it such a blessing to be able to be at home during this time.  I consider it a blessing that my husband is able to take time away from work to have been there will me as our girls, with pride in their eyes showed us how much they are learning.  This chapter in our lives is one that carries with it many emotional ups and down, many mornings of frayed nerves, and many evenings of wondering if we are getting it right.  But, it is one I wouldn't trade for anything.  It is A LOT of work, there is A LOT I hadn't really considered when they were teeny tiny, and so dependent on me for everything.  But through them I learn so much more about the way my Father loves, and cares for me.  Through them, I experience the love of my creator as I stop to consider that I am His child, and in me, He delights.  Through them I get a glimpse of Heaven on earth.  When we are in our rhythm, and love and friendship, and kindness, and sharing, and all those good things are flowing I begin to comprehend that although God is in the midst of our lives here on earth, rejoicing with us as we live in the middle of His daily blessings, there is so very much more in store for those who call him Father.  I praise God for His daily portion in my life, and the many blessings he has chosen to pour out on me.  I praise Him even more for all that is yet to come in eternity.  Proverbs 22:6 says "Train a child up in the way he should go, and even when he they are old they will not turn away from it."  I praise God that He is the source of our wisdom, and strength as we do our best to see this truth lived out in our girls.

Is there an everyday miracle you recognize in your own life today?  Have you praised Him for it yet?  He gives generously (James 1:5), and he delights in YOU today (Psalm 149:4).

PRAISE the Lord, all you nations!
Praise Him, all you people!
For His mercy and loving-kindness are great toward us,
and the truth and faithfulness of the Lord
endure forever.
Praise the Lord

Story Telling

I spent a little time yesterday creating with more Crate Storyteller from My Scrapbook Nook's April Kit.  Danni, had a Card Challenge for us this week.  There's a new Card Challenge, over at the Nook every week in fact.  This one was to create an unconventional banner on a card.  I hand cut a couple of these pieces, and simply covered tags or tickets to make the others.  That "Hello" sticker was just screaming to be used on a card.  You should see what some of the others came up with, there are some really wonderful creations in the Forum Thread.

Stacey had a layout based challenge for us .  Her April Colour Challenge had a few requirements to it.  We had to scrap about an everyday activity, include journaling, and use some sort of natural texture.
The jewelery cord is from my stash, and the reinsforcements are from the Nook Dec kit featuring the Crate Peppermint line, the mist is Studio Calico Green Apple.
I realize produce is not an "activity", but it is something that is consumed daily in our home, so I figured that was kind of the same thing.  The journaling says "Fresh produce, something I often take for granted".  I kicked myself for having adhered the double sided dimensional tape before realizing I had not put the tag through my typewriter.  It could have looked so much better.  At least it's legible.  Another reminder that perfection is overrated.

Welcome to the weekend friends.  I wish you laughter, and plenty of time to enjoy the poeple around you over the next two days.  Hope it's a good one!

New Artist

I found a bunch of photos the other day that were all of the art work the girls use to do when they were little.  They all loved to draw and colour.  It started with Isabelle.  She had Barbies, and Polly Pockets, but they only got occasional play time.  Paper, and markers saw the most action with that girl.  I got wise after receiving sheet after sheet of paper beholding her sweet little creations.  You need to know, I am not a pack rat, and much to some of your chagrin, I do consider an excess of hand drawn photos (no matter how cute) clutter.  I thought it would be a wise choice to invest in a Magna Doodle.  Remember those things?  It turns out, that it was so popular a toy that the girls would actually fight over it.  We ended up owning three, one for each girl.  The result was, that rather than having to store pounds of paper with their cute little creations.  I would simply take pictures of them, and store them digitally.  It sure saved on paper, and space.  Here is Théa proudly displaying one of her drawings.
Crate Storyteller collection papers
I can still remember what she said as she showed me this.  "Mommy this is me on the swing, and you are watching me".  I loved her pre-neck and body drawings of people.  Looking at this makes my heart ache just a little.  How is it possible that 7 years have already passed since this photo?  *sigh*

This layout was created with the April Kit from My Scrapbook Nook.  Have you seen it yet?  It is jam packed, with Crate goodness.  There are a ton of coordinating add-ons included this month too.  I'm pretty sure Pam and Leah decided to treat us, because there is definitely much more goodness than usual.  This kit has got to be worth more than the $28USD paid.  Check it out for yourself here.  It's not too late to get your very own.  May is just around the corner, and promises to be yet another great kit (do I sound like a broken record already?)  There's a fabulous deal for new subscribers as well, 2 extra kits, plus a free grab bag loaded with co-coordinating goodies to match the monthly kit.  This is a great deal friends you really should take a sec to check it out.

Hope you're in a for a great day.  Thanks so much for taking the time to come by!

For the love of Prairie Hill

Today is my day to post over at Let's Capture Our Memories.  I'd love it if you'd pop by and say hi.

*************************************************************************************************************
Have you seen the New Pink Paislee Collections?  Both the Indigo Blue, and Prairie Hill Collections caught my eye.  As soon as I saw the Hilltop sheet from the Prairie Hill Collection, I knew I wanted to cut it into itty bitty pieces.
I had a feeling I would  love it even more with a little cardstock showing through.  I used my paper trimmer to get nice straight lines, placed them evenly on the cardstock, then glued them down one by one.  Isn't that kite the cutest?

This is the design I ended up with.
I apologize that the little stickers are difficult to read.  They say "They make life even sweeter" The white ink text reads: "There are sure to be a lot of laughs when our families are together"

I left the layout like this for several days, despite felling like something was missing. Then a couple of weeks later while showing it to a friend I realized what was missing.  I had the idea to add a few strips of jounaling to the top right of the layout.  So I pulled out some Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type (thanks Jody), and added sentiments that were fun, matched the colours, and were appropriate for the photo of the family I was featuring on the layout.
Here's a close up of the Tiny Text stickers.
Here is the layout that is in my album today.  I feel as though the little journal strips finish it off much better, and add a little more character to a page that's all about a family that's full of character.

I'm currently playing with another sheet from the line.
Again, my scissors got the best of me.  You'll have to wait and see how it all turns out.

Thanks for stopping by friends, have a great Wednesday everyone!

Happy Monday

Happy Monday, and welcome to a brand new week!

I am feeling blessed to have had a lovely weekend.  Low key Friday night, work, and dinner with friends (who we adore, and can't wait for their baby to arrive) on Saturday, and a whole lot of activity on Sunday.  Full.  Good.  Blessed.

Today I have the last of my Pink Paislee Konnichiwa shares for you.  In all, I believe I used 4 sheets of patterned paper, and several stickers, and created 3 layouts in total.  This layout, at first glance doesn't even look like the same line.  That's because it's the B sides of all the sheets.  I love how simple this design is, it allows the warmth of the photo to really speak for itself.  This is my brother and sister-in-law.  We don't see them much, as they live on the other side of the city, and we are simply in different season of life.  They have a little guy, Jayden, who has been the subject of a few of my pages, and both work two jobs, and one is just finishing her education degree.  Busy.  They are wonderful parents, and such good friends with each other.  There is really something special between them.  When I observe them in conversation together they still look like they did when they were dating; so gentle, kind, and patient with one another.  It's a gift they have.  Normally my sister-in-law doesn't enjoy when I have the camera in her face.  This time, however, she just let me have my way.  I love the result, and she does too.

A week of 'getting to know each other' continues over at My Scrapbook Nook for all the dt hopefuls.  It's been really great getting to know some of the ladies, especially those I've admired from a far for some time.  It's so wonderful to hear other people's story.  You may remember I'm a 'story' junkie, I love nothing more than to get to know other people, and hear about how they came to be who, and where they are.  The reflection of that story through scrapping is so compelling to me.  I wish there were a way to do a retreat with my Nook friends, new and old.  I'd be beaming for days getting to meet the women behind all the stories.  Anyhow, we've been told it's stiff competition for only a few spots, so please continue to be hopeful for me.  There's so much fun in the journey, but receiving the title at the end of the day would be even sweeter.

Thanks for popping by today friends.  I wish you a day full of promise!

On Parenting

First off - let me share my fantastic news with you...the list is up...and my name is actually on it!  Yay!  I feel honoured to have been included in this list of wonderfully talented woman.  Now...we play a bit, and get to know each other.  I'm not exactly sure what all to expect.  It may be the same kind of set up as last time, it may not.  Perhaps we'll be required to create new projects.  Perhaps we'll only be sharing recent or favorite projects.  I guess we'll see.  I'll be sure to keep you posted.

I have a new project to share with you today.  Carol, at My Scrapbook Nook offered up a "quote/title" challenge to us on Sunday, that had my name written all over it.  The challenge was to use a quote or a title for your layout.  I love titles, especially long ones, like quotes.  I decided that rather than starting with the quote, to begin instead with the photo, and to focus my layout on parenting.  I had this photo of the girls, and decided to look for an appropriate parenting quote to go with it.  I found this one, and knew it was perfect for the feelings the photo evoke in me.
Using My Scrapbook Nook April kit featuring Crate Storyteller, Prima alphas, doily, and jute: from my stash

I've said before that parenting is something that I use to only dream of.  To look around the dinner table, and see all three of their beautiful faces, just overwhelms me sometimes.  Sure, they have their times where I need some space away from them (or maybe it's them who need some space from me?!), and things that they say and do, that make me shake my head.  But at the end of the day, when I sneak into their rooms to peek at them, and lean in and smell them (yes, I really do that still) I am so deeply in love with each of them.  I am so very grateful to God for entrusting them to me.  I believe parenting is a HUGE responsibility.  One I try not to take lightly.  One that scares the pants off of me sometimes.  One that causes me to dream, and reflect on the type of parents I had, and the type of parent I want to be.  What I say and do with them, and to them, and about them matters.  The way I show them love, and the way I discipline them matter.  I have been bestowed "no greater responsibility, and no greater privilege" than to raise my three girls. As they walk through this life may they be able to say that they had a mother who loved them unconditionally, and was always on their side.  May they experience the love of their Father through my words, and actions.  And, may they never question how very important they are to me.

Welcome to the weekend friends!  Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by.

These Shoes

I love to scrap the little bits of our everyday life.  As much as people contribute to the quality of our lives, so do a lot of inanimate objects, and I love to give them their fair place in my scrapbooks.

We have a lot of dance shoes in our home,  between all of us we have at least 10 pairs.  In my opinion, it's Théa's dance shoes that make the most music.  This girl can dance, it's just in her.  She would say that her favorite style of dance to do is Jazz.  That may be, but I would say that she excels best at Tap.  She's that kid who taps all the time.  While she's brushing her teeth, waiting for her toast to pop, and just about any other time she's got a second or two to spare.  To me these shoes are like musical instruments, and I love the music they make.
Basic Grey Konnishiwa Collection, with October Afternoon alphas
Well folks, today is the day I find out if I've made the short list for My Scrapbook Nook's design team call.  I'm just as nervous as I was last time around.  I've second guessed myself a little more this around.  Wondering if I've submitted the right projects.  Wondering if my blog is attractive enough, if it gets enough traffic for me to be considered, wondering this, and wondering that.  Ugh!  It's not a fun process.  It's exactly like a job interview, except that there's only a small handful of spots, and 200 people all interviewing for the same job as you.  I love the Nook though.  It's my second home, and a lot of my friends hang out there, so how could I not give it a shot.  I'll update the post as soon as I know the results.  Thanks for all your well wishes, and encouraging words along the way friends, it sure makes me feel loved.

Have a wonderful Thursday,

Colourful MME

I have had these photos of Animal Kingdom printed, and just sitting there for weeks already.  They were extras from my Project Live pages for that week.  I'm waaaay behind on that by the way.  I lost the motivation at about week 3 (oh the shame), after discovering that I couldn't print the photos at home properly to save my life, and at the same time my local photo developer decided it was time to reno the place, and they were closed for over a month.  That was it, I was done for.  I really do want to get back on the band wagon though, as I think it's so important to capture the everyday.  I think it will be great to look back at the album a year from now and see what was going on in our lives just one year previous.

Back to the layout.  I knew I wanted to have random strips of the MME papers going across the wood grain background with different edges.  So I punched some of the edges, sewed some of the them, and glued them down.  This is the final result.
My Scrapbook Nook March kit featuring My Mind's Eye Dolled Up line

A little more colourful than usual for me, okay maybe a lot more colourful, but I kinda like it.  I never want my scrapping to get trapped in a box.  It's kind of fun to throw something a little wild and crazy out there every once in a while.  I like the design, and all the little photos, and that fun doodlebug font.  Hope you enjoy the change too.

Today, my new friend Jody is coming over to scrap.  Yay!  I say new, because I only met her a couple of months ago through through The Scrapbook Cottage where I work.  She teaches classes there (because she's super talented).  We've had some good little chats the few times we've connected there.  You may remember she's also the one who nominated me for the Leibster award.  I've talked her into joining the forum at the Nook, and she even took them up on their fabulous April offer for brand new subscribers, lucky girl.  It's not too late to get yours.  We both got our kits yesterday, so today it's time to get down and dirty with a little Crate.  Can't wait.  I'm single parenting for the next few days so this will be a nice little break right in the middle.

Hope you're in the middle of a great week wherever you may be today.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Pint Size Ali

Today I have a new share for you.  It is one of three layouts I completed yesterday using the brand spanking new Kinnichiwa line by Basic Grey.  I love the fun colours in this line, and now with the Spring/Summer weather the girls have been wearing a few more brighter colours which match nicely.  This design is actually based on a sketch challenge by Mad About Scrappin Facebook page.  It was so up my ally that I just had to play along.  I'm sure if I were to go back and look through my layouts, I'd find a layout that looks almost exactly like this.  Does that ever happen to you?  I know I've heard it said that there are only so many ways to set up a 12x12 page, especially when you're using only one or two photos.

only the tags, ribbon and alphas are other than Basic Grey product.

These photos of Théa were taken one morning just before we left for school.  It was one of those nice days, and she was wearing splash pants and a fleece with the hood up.  I told her she looked like a little boxer, so she posed for a few photos for me.  I've pop dotted a few of the elements here like the paper lantern by the tag, and the hand cut flowers to the right of the photo.  This is one of those layouts that didn't require any journaling, as the title really does say it all.

That's it for me today.  I hope your week is off to a great start.  Thanks so much for taking the time to pop in, I sure appreciate it.

Cheers,

He Is Risen

I wonder, do yo know my King?
I believe because there is no other logical explanation for how it is that I am the person I am today, other than by the grace of God.
Today I celebrate that Christ is risen.
He is risen indeed.

Happy Easter to you my friends.
May you know the real and freeing love of The Father today!

Feeling FABulous

Happy Good Friday to those of you who celebrate the Easter season!  I'm up today with my very first post at Let's Capture Our Memories.  I hope you'll pop over and have a peek at all that's going on over there.

My first project this month features the new Simple Stories line. When I first saw the Fabulous collection, I just knew I had to have it.  I have three girls and none of them would be ashamed to proclaim, out loud, that they are exactly that - fabulous.  (Oh to be as confident in myself as my girls are). The cardstock stickers are what really got me.  They have embellishing elements, as well as phrases, boarders, and even alphas between the two sheets.  I loved this tag, and thought it would be great for the title of my layout.
I have a new found love for Glossy Accents, I put it all over the alphas, creating an epoxy effect, helping it to add a little shine, and pop to the page.
I also used it on the Maya Road wood banner

As you know, I love white space on my layouts, I also really like to tell the story behind the photo with journaling.  This combination, can sometimes create a problem.  A lot of my journaling ends up being hidden behind the photo on a tag or other element.  For this layout I chose to keep it visible, but tight, and tiny right close to the doily.  I find it less distracting from the overall design, and more appealing to the eye this way.  Here is the layout I created using some posed photos of my youngest, hanging out on the deck in her swim suit.  With the start of summer just around the corner, it won't be much longer before we'll all be hanging out on or decks more often.
The background paper is one sheet of paper, I simply cut it at the top and bottom, flipped it over, and sewed it back together.  The butterfly is pop dotted off the page for dimension, and I've curled the edges of the hand cut doilies upward ever so slightly.

Simple Stories quickly catapulted themselves onto my 'fave manufacturer' list, by consistently designing with a bright, yet subtle colour palette, fun little embellishing elements, and always including product that is easy to mix and match between lines.  I also love the the journal, and flashcards, they are perfect for my Project Life album.  The store has plenty of this line still available.  I encourage you to hop on over and have a peek at the entire collection, it is so easy to work with.

Supplies Used:
Echo Park: Charming brads
Items from my stash: Martha Stewart butterfly punch, May Arts jute, black Sharpie, random brads, sewing machine

Thanks for stopping by today, have a wonderful weekend!

A Quickie

I couldn't resit, I had to go with that title *smile*

I'm referring to my post, and the layout I have to share with you today.  It's been a full week around here.  All fun stuff, including creating for my guest spot over at LCOM,  creating a couple of layouts for a class I'll be teaching at my LSS, The Scrapbook Cottage at the end of the month.  Tweaking my resume, for the upcoming Nook dt call (you still have a couple of days to get your application in if you're considering).  Our Tap Dance Class has also been squeezing in a couple of extra practices for our upcoming competition.  The dance is super fast, challenging, but awesome.  We're dancing to Bette Midler's Miss Otis Regrets, it's the kind of song that makes you just want to dance around your kitchen, singing at the top of your lungs.

The other night, I completed all my projects, cleaned up my space, and then decided I just had to get another layout in.  One that was just for me.  I really wanted to use this MME paper from the March Scrapbook Nook kit, and knew I could whip up a layout with it in no time.  This is what I came up with, in about 20 minutes.
MME Miss Caroline papers as featured in My Scrapbook Nook March kit

We love this woman.  Deb is a dear friend, my girls actually call her Aunty Deb, that's how important she is to us.  Hubs and I as so looking forward to taking in the Jets game with her and her hubby on Saturday.  It's going to be a-mazing, the last game of the season for our boys in blue.

I'll be back tomorrow with my first post for Let's Capture our Memories.  I know it's Good Friday, and normally I would do a spiritually based post, but that's the way the schedule worked so I'm going with it.  My Easter post will be on Sunday.

See you tomorrow,

Painting

I have a few scrappy online friends who love to use paint in their projects. They do such a fabulous job, that I was inspired to get myself some paint of my own around Christmastime.  I've made a few meager attempts to use it, but not to the extent these talented ladies do.  Well I finally got around to it.  A Member Inspiration Challenge over at My Scrapbook Nook opened the door for me.  The challenge was to life this layout by the sweet, and uber  talented Zarah.  I was excited, yet nervous to dig in and get a little messy with my white paint, and stamps.

Using Pink Paislee Prairie Hill Collection
The final product is not exactly as I had hoped, but I can now say I've actually used something a little more exciting on a layout.  I still think the Ormolu tag should be tucked further behind the photo, but it's so cute I want it to show.  Originally the title was on that tag in a yellow font, but it just didn't look right so I removed it and went with this look instead.  Even though it's not exactly as I had envisioned, I think I'll leave it.  Do you ever go back and re-do layots?  I am anxious to give painting another go though, I have another idea I want to try out.

On another note the April issue of Scrap Street Magazine is out.  I had the privilege being asked by one of the writers(who also happens to be one of my scrappy heroes) to create a layout  that documented one of the ways I re-energize myself.  The focus of the article was Spring, focusing on how it is a time of re-birth, and rejuvenation.  The first thing that came to mind was having one-on-one time with some of my closest friends.  I went on the hunt for photos, pulled out some fun, and colourful Studio Calico Memoir papers, and Amy Tangerine goodies, and went to work.  Here is the magazine page where my layout is featured (sorry I'm not actually allowed to post it anywhere until next month).  All the journaling is hidden on a tag, tucked behind the envelope,  it's pretty lengthy, so I'll leave it for when I can share the layout here.  I hope you'll pop over and have a look.  It is officially my new favorite layout.   Some of my fave people, bright and cheery, layered  all over, with fun little bits sprinkled around, and mist...love!  If you take the time to go back a page in the magazine you'll see another super talented scrappy hero of mine, who also happens to be from Winnipeg, and who I had the delight of meeting for the first time last week.

I hope this finds you in the middle of a great week friends.  Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by, and especially for your sweet and encouraging comments.

I'm A Guest

It is with great  excitement that I let you in on the scrappy secret that I've been hanging onto for a few weeks.

I have been invited to join the Marketing Team over at Let's Capture Our Memories for the next two months.  Tanya is a real sweetheart who stocks the latest released product, and runs a full, and active forum.  The community has been very welcoming, and the rest of the Guest DTs are super talented.  I'm honoured to be part of such a fab team.  I owe a huge thank you to Nicole Nowosad for inviting me to join in.  I've been playing with some of the new Pink Paislee, Echo Park, and Dear Lizzy and have some fun stuff to show you as the month goes on.  I have three posts scheduled over the next four weeks.  The first of which will be this coming Friday.

Until then, I have a little sneak for ya.

I'll be back tomorrow with another scrappy secret reveal.  I hope you'll come back then.

Have a great Tuesday friends,

One Of A Kind Girl

Can you believe it's April already?  Did any of you have to endure any cruel and unusual April fools pranks?  The girls tried their hand at a couple here before church.  It was pretty cute actually.

Today over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles we have the April Layout Challenge up for you.  Jeannine had a great idea for us to scrap about the person or people in or lives who make us laugh with the things they say.  I had just taken these photos of Eden.  She was up to another one of her crazy shenanigans.  She had the crazy idea to wear her dad's old boxing gloves on her feet, rather than her hands.  She looked hilarious, with her tutu, and leatherette pants.  She was fooling around while I was getting supper prepared, when out of the blue announced to me that she was posing in 3rd position.  Well, right then I knew I had the photos and subject of my layout for the challenge.
Using Echo Park Fabulous collection
The journalling reads: Eden is forever doing or saying the silliest things.  On this occasion I found her sporting her Daddy's old boxing gloves on her feet, rather than her hands, as makeshift ballet shoes.  She was already wearing the tutu, albeit, combined with black vinyl pants, and a bright green tank top.  She looked hilarious.  Once she had her feet comfortably in place, she placed her hands squarely on her hips, and very proudly called out to me "look Mommy, I'm in third position."  As much as this girl of mine can have me pulling out my hair, she is quick to see the humor in things, can laugh easily at herself, and knows how to quickly get the rest of us to join in.

It's a fun challenge, hope you'll join in.  Our sponsor this month is Scrapbook Circle.  A wonderful kit club filled with some of the most recent product.  They're offering up a wonderful prize to one lucky winner this month, so be sure to hop over to SEM, and check out all the details. Pin It
